My name is Michael Derenge, I draw the comic that is found on this page. I’ve said in the past and will continue to say that I do not like to talk about myself, but for those of you who may be interested in the person behind this comic I guess I will go into as much depth as I can force myself to.

I’m from Kentucky, I’ve lived here my entire life and only have traveled very far elsewhere on rare occasions. I am by no means worldly, but I can say that for the most part Kentucky is given a bad reputation by those who are ignorant or simply prejudiced against what they judge as the south. I suppose it’s relative actually. I live near Lexington Kentucky, a city of over a quarter of a million people. I use the term city lightly as it’s really just a giant suburb of nothing. I’ve spent the majority of my time just outside of this place in a nearby county.

My comic came into being towards the end of my first year of high school, but truth be told it’s been in my mind for as long as I can remember. Once I started to draw I’ve never really stopped drawing, some people can go for months without anything, but that just bothers me. It’s safe to say that from the time I started drawing consistently I’ve not stopped for more than a couple of weeks ever. Having said that I will always try to be my harshest critic, I draw a great deal because I know I have a lot of work to do if I am ever to do anything with this skill I am developing. The many times that I have disappeared from the face of the internet for a few months I have never been sitting around doing nothing, that much I will say.

Enough rambling about the comic, I’ve got lots of other things going for me… such as… stuff.

Yeah, I don’t mean to sound silly or anything, but I can’t really think of any thing else to say, so I won’t.
